Scholarship Available:

Altrusa is offering one, $1,500 scholarship towards tuition, books or other school related expenses. Applicants must be Douglas County residents who are within one year of completing their program. The deadline is November 10, 2011. Students can visit the UCC Scholarship Office in the Tech Center building for an application.


New Kiln opens in Whipple

After a two year process, Whipple Fine Arts opened up a new kiln. It was fired up for the first time on October 25th. The kiln has been fine tuned to ensure that it will provide students with firings for the next 20 years.


South County Campus:

A satellite campus building is scheduled to go to bond, but it will be one of the last buildings constructed under that bond (Allied health building is first). The Executive Cabinet, which includes President Joe Olson and his immediate staff are talking about the South County needs now in their meetings.


Blood Drive

A blood drive will be hosted by the Red Cross and ASUCC in Whipple Fine Arts on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Thursday, November 3 from 10:00am– 3:00pm. Appointments are available every 15 minutes starting at 10:00am and ending at 2:45pm. Microsoft Word 2010

The campus bookstore now has Microsoft Office Suite 2010 available for purchase for $18. The suite is available at this price only to currently enrolled UCC students. To see other software available for purchase visit the bookstore or.


Blazing New Trails:

The Oregon Consortium and Oregon Workforce Alliance, along with the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development, Umpqua Community College and many others will sponsor New Oregon Trails-The Forum. This forum will create new paths to economic prosperity for rural citizens, business and industry.
